Activities Information and Criteria





Taking part in activities can make a huge difference to carers, enabling carers to enjoy a break away from their caring roles. The Carers Service offers a range of activities that enable carers to access information and advice, find a hobby, learn a skill, and enjoy a break.  All our activities are subsidised, and easy to book onto.  Please see activities table:

All activities are subsidised for carers.  We have a number of activities that are for carers only and a number where the carer can take the cared for or a partner – please see below.

Activities are booked with reception and payment must be made at the time of booking, a deposit can be paid to secure a place, however we cannot take bookings without  a payment – please note that we can now take debit and credit card payments.

The Carers Service operates a priority booking system on some of the activities where places are limited.  This means that carers that have registered within the last 12 months prior to booking will be given priority – Dates and times of all activities  

Trip Bookings Information for Carers:

Carers need to keep the receipt and booking information which will have the dates and times of the Activity.

Carers must arrive 15 minutes before the departure time or before an activity. This is very   important as on occasions carers have missed the trip and we are unable to give a refund.

We have a no refund policy, however in certain circumstances, if we know in advance we can transfer the money onto another trip.

Carers need to ensure that they have all the necessary equipment needed for the activity and the onus will be on them to clarify this information if not sure.

Carers must provide a mobile contact number

Carers should research the trip and area when going on a trip.

At all times it is the Carers responsibility to keep themselves and those they care for safe, if they are feeling unwell or at any risk, they must inform the trip leader.

Carers will be given an itinerary with the necessary telephone numbers for emergency  contact.

Please note that when on full day activities carers will not be able to park in the car park as this limits access for other visitors.
