TITANIC THE MUSICAL LIVERPOOL EMPIRE THEATRE

In the final hours of 14th April 1912 the RMS Titanic, on her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York, collided with an iceburg and ‘the unsinkable ship’ slowly sank. It was one of the most tragic disasters of the 20th Century. 1517 men, women and children lost their lives.

Based on real people abroad  the most legendary ship in the world. Titanic the Musical is a stunning and stirring production focusing on the hopes, dreams and aspirations of her passengers who each boarded with stories and personal ambitions of their own. All innocently unaware of the fate awaiting them, the Third Class immigrants dream of a better life in America, the Second Class imagine they too can join the lifestyles of the rich and famous, whilst the millionaire Barons of the First Class anticipate legacies lasting forever.

An ongoing course which will give you a foundation to work on various projects, the course includes:

HEALTH WALKS

Blackburn with Darwen Carers Service health walks usually take place on a Thursday from 10.30am. The walks are at a moderate pace lasting up to 1 hour and a half and a maximum range of around 4 miles. Please make sure you are in good health and have suitable footwear and the appropriate clothes for the weather. Some walks take place in countryside with grass paths, stiles, rough ground and steep gradients.

Southport Flower Show is the largest independent flower show in the country. Renowned for its spectacular show gardens and grand floral marquee, it also features the largest amateur’ growers and floral art competitions.

KEEP MOVING, KEEP GOING EXERCISE & WELLBEING SESSION

Exercises to help with mobility and reduce falling.

A new weekly keep fit class is starting on Monday 1st October with an emphasis on 4 key aspects of physical fitness – light aerobic performed to music for healthy heart & lungs, flexibility, strength and balance.

The class is suitable for all abilities involved can be done seated, standing with support or free standing and no previous experience is necessary. No special clothing or footwear is needed – just shoes that won’t fall off (or barefoot) and comfortable loose clothes that allow freedom of movement.

So come and get fit and active!

MINDFULNESS & BREATHWORKS

A day’s workshop that will give you a good grounding to begin practicing Mindfulness.

Mindfulness is simply noticing what is happening right now. Mindfulness is taking notice of how your body feels and what you see, smell and taste. Maybe you even feel emotions in your body, perhaps through a tightness somewhere, or a good sensation. Mindfulness is also noticing what your mind is doing.

When you notice what is happening around you, you focus more deeply and that attention to your own senses will help you improve in diverse areas of your life. When you notice what is happening around you, it can help you to calm down when you’re sad, angry or frustrated. Mindfulness helps you deal with tough emotions and mindfulness can make you happy and feel good.

Neuro Linguistic Programming is the technique to look at situations in a more positive light and retrain your thought patterns to stop negative thinking cycles. This technique is very useful for carers as it allows you to work with your situation and build confidence.

Are you feeling stressed? Feeling like you are losing control? Unable to do the things you want to do and losing yourself. This course is for you, it’s all about practising and re-learning techniques that help you through difficult situations.

If you came to the last course, this course will build on the skills you were taught or it is a course that you can pick up at any time.
